We have a big week of photo shoots ahead! On Friday we will be shooting the inspiration to reality shoot for Style me pretty…stay tuned for the finished product!
That same day Beth will be in New Orleans collaborating with some of CT’s most talented vendors on a shoot based on the following inspiration board created by Candice Dowling. We have some amazing fashion enroute to the big easy for the shoot.
Saturday night Beth attended the annual Fairy Tale Ball to support the Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut. The focus of the evening are stunning tables that individuals and businesses design and decorate in the theme of a children’s book. The guests of the ball dine at the fabulously designed tables.
This is the first year in the past three that we have not designed a table, but we thoroughly enjoyed this years display! Below are two of our favorites~
Beth with author and event planner, Karen Bussen and friend of The White Dress, Ann Nyberg. Be sure to check out Simple Stunning Bride, Karen’s new book that features images shot at The White Dress by the shore and a chapter written by Beth about selecting your wedding gown.
Ann Nyberg, Christine Toner of Stonington Design + Paperie and Beth Chapman
We just found that designer Anne Barge will be in attendance for our upcoming trunk show on February 5th & 6th. This event will be an amazing opportunity to view the 2010 collection
and to work on on one with the designer to customize the perfect look for your wedding day.

As you know, we’ve been doing a lot of creative and editorial shoots, some of which were featured in BRIDES magazine and Style Me Pretty recently. Over the past 5 months we’ve had the opportunity to work with talented and incredible people. Since we can’t show you the images from our super top secret projects, we wanted to show you some behind-the-scenes images and talk about what we’ve been working on.
This past December we had the opportunity to shoot at an amazing location in the northern hills of Connecticut, The Mayflower Inn and Spa. The setting really inspired so many details of our shoot. In every story we’ve set out to create, the vendors come together and collaborate on almost each aspect. It is truly a team effort – We are happy to say – with each mind bringing unique and amazing ideas to the table. We have to admit not only are we SO lucky to work with these folks but we have THE BEST time doing it!! On this recent winter inspired shoot, we collaborated with Carla Ten Eyck, Tony of Datura, Dana Bartone, Corine Dell’Orso of Lovely Lollies , Candice Dowling Coppola of Jubilee Events and the ladies behind Posh Paperie from San Diego.
The floral designer for our shoot was Tony of Datura – A Modern Garden. Tony is truly an artist and created almost all of our floral details on site. He is such a great person to collaborate with. He designed several unique bouquets for our shoot using all different types of textures. He also created all the centerpieces and floral looks on the tables! We used a lot of birch, some metal, and a variety of gorgeous flowers. We set out with a concept for our shoot and have definite ideas in place– but often create a lot of things on the spot that we didn’t intend or think of. Tony might be the best person we know at doing that! He is so talented and creative.
Once a shot is set up that’s where Carla Ten Eyck comes in. Seriously– without this talented woman, these shoots wouldn’t even be possible, and we wouldn’t have ANY fun. Once we get a shot ready Carla jumps in to shoot, direct, and make things happen. She’s the best at what she does! She also keeps us all laughing, excited, on our toes, and enjoying the hard work we’re putting into each project. She has some of the best ideas and is so fun to collaborate with.
In the end, we all work together on many details and are apart of each shot being set up. You can see us all pitching in to achieve the final outcome… which is always incredible!!
We hope to have more behind the scenes from some previous shoots we’ve done and most definitely our next shoot in New Orleans !!
We loved this spread in a recent issue of Martha Stewart. It inspired us to share some of our favorite shoes of our brides’ weddings from last season.
