Are you a bride getting married in Spring or Summer of 2013? Now is the time to start shopping! And what better than purchasing a gown produced right in your backyard!
We love these designers because they have the same values and beliefs as we do- each produce unique, domestically made gowns and they believe in treating each bride with the individualized attention she deserves.
Amsale and Modern Trousseau design, cut and sew their collections locally ,in Connecticut and New York City respectively. Both create a unique pattern for each bride with special attention to the clients specific measurements and customizations.
The TWD team had the pleasure of traveling to NYC this past winter to visit Amsale in her design studio (check out the post here). We witnessed Amsale’s skilled workers cutting, draping and sewing gorgeous couture gowns. We were thrilled to see all the hand sewing, pleating and beading that goes into making just a single Amsale gown. We even had the pleasure of meeting with Ms. Amsale Abbera herself (working hard right amongst the rest of her team ,we might add).
Designer, Callie Tien, of Modern Trousseau works in quite the same fashion- amongst her staff of seamstresses in charming Woodbridge, Connecticut. Callie’s attention to detail and hand-draped custom fit make her designs irresistible to the classic, yet modern bride looking for something truly special.
We have a long-standing relationship with Modern Trousseau- in fact we were the first store in the country to carry them! We are honored to be their exclusive Connecticut retailer.
Stay tuned to the blog for a post about the special ‘muslin process’ offered by The White Dress by the shore and Modern Trousseau in which you are able to make customizations to get the perfect fit, as the gown is constructed right on your body!

Our new favorite accessory is the cardigan! Whether it is to keep the bride or maids warm on a chilly fall evening, or to bring a pop of color into the attire…we can’t get enough of it! We are over the moon that one of our fave designers, Ivy & Aster introduced a new line of cardigans for brides and maids at April’s bridal market. We are waiting with baited breath for them to hit our boutique. Stay tuned to the blog for their arrival! In the meantime, you can get a sneak peek at a few of them below, mixed amongst some of our favorite cardigan pairings!

This 1960’s influenced editorial shoot was recently featured on Wedding Chicks. The inspiration for this shoot came from one of our current obsessions- the hit series, Mad Men. I have always been enthralled with the lady-like fashion of the 1960’s. Gloves, full skirts, pearls, bouffant hair styles- the whole thing! I just adore it! We felt that The Study Hotel with it’s ‘mid-century modern’ feel was perfect backdrop for this shoot.
The ‘cast’ involved in this shoot rocked the hair, beauty and amazing details!

Quality, originality, and elegance are the three words that capture the essence of Maria Elena designs. Their intricate design ,exquisite detail, and willingness to customize are only a few of the reasons why we love this designer. Each piece is handcrafted in Miami, FL by specialized craft jewelers and set with Swarovski crystals, semi-precious stones.
Haute Bride’s collection of jewels embodies clean, classic and modern style.
In 2001 while planning her own wedding, designer Lindsie Jones, she was on the search for the perfect hair accessory and after much searching, she set out to make it herself! And from there her business was born. Each piece is hand made by a few craftsmen in San Francisco and we just love the custom look you can achieve with these designs.
