Golden Globes 2013 Red Carpet Fashion
Last evening’s Golden Globes Red Carpet fashion was full of hits, with very few misses! The stars came out with their A-game fashion for sure. There were a few overriding trends throughout the evening. Shades of red were the statement color of the night. Other starlets chose to be more demure in tones of nude and blush. There was also a lot of sparkle- which we always love to see on the red carpet. From a silhouette perspective, the standout shapes were the mermaid gown and the ball skirt. It was refreshing to see many of the talents select gowns with sleeves, which based on the chilly weather in L.A. last night, was a great choice.
Here is a recap of a few of our favorite looks:
Over overall favorite look of the evening; from fashion to beauty, was Julianne Hough. She was pure perfection in her sparkly, yet ethereal, Monique Lhuillier gown!
Favorite shades of red:
Zooey Deschanel looked stunning in her classic Oscar de la Renta gown with oversized pearls and flirty ponytail. We are adding Claire Danes to our fave list, because she had a baby 1 month ago and completely rocked this halter from Versace. Her hair and makeup were also gorg! Another new mom, Jessica Alba, was flawless in a mermaid gown from Oscar de la Renta. Our favorite part of her look was her electric coral lipstick- PERFECTION!
Blushing Beauties:
These four women rocked the romantic neutrals trend last night. We adore the feminine shapes and delicate details on each gown and of course, we are IN LOVE with these romantic hues!
Top Row: Hayden Penetierre in Roberto Cavalli, Kerry Washington in Miu Miu.
Bottom Row: Amy Adams in Marchesa, Meghan Fox in Dolce and Gabanna,
Long Sleeved Lovelies:
These ladies looked lovely in sleeves. Each looked modern and sophisticated, yet their gown reflected their individuality.
Top Row: The current queen of soul herself Adele, looked elegant in her ¾ sleeve gown from Burberry, Naomi Watts left us all speechless in this backless 1940’s inspired confection from Zac Posen, and we couldn’t get enough of Julianne Moore’s modern sophisticated look from Tom Ford
Bottom Row: Nicole Richie was all about old Hollywood glam in this Naeem Khan number andKate Hudson look effortlessly glamorous in this beauty from Alexander McQueen
Passion for Prints:
One of the most refreshing trends of the evening was prints.
We absolutely adored Lucy Lui’s Carolina Herrera floral printed ball gown. We wish she had made a different choice with her hair, but the gown was a show stopper! Halle Berry never disappoints and this choice was no different. We are having a love affair with soft painterly prints for bridesmaids and this look was a beautiful nod to that trend.
For all you die hard fashionistas, stay tuned to the blog tomorrow when we translate these looks from the red carpet to the white aisle.
Do tell, who has your vote for best dressed?

We can’t help but be in love with Anne Hathaway’s Valentino wedding gown which she wore last weekend when tying the knot in Big Sur, CA. Just look at the soft and ethereal layers of tulle and delicate beaded details. The neckline is nothing short of stunning and the headpiece is a lovely homage to a veil.
If you love this gown as much as we do, then stop into the boutique to try on our newest Rivini gown, Michelle with similar tulle layers, beaded details and sheer cap sleeves, this gown is sure to make heads turn. Michelle happens to be the most expensive gown in our boutique, so she is certainly a sight to behold!!

The Blake Lively Wedding Dress
We were thrilled to hear that one of our celebrity faves, Blake Lively got married over the weekend to Ryan Reynolds in Charleston, South Carolina. We are on pins and needles waiting to hear what her she wore! It is rumored that Blake Lively’s wedding dress was designed by Georgina Chapman (no relation, unfortunately) of Marchesa. Until it is confirmed, we decided to dream up what we would outfit Blake in, given the opportunity.
Below is our pick for the lovely Mrs. Reynolds. Being that the wedding was in the South, we opted to put her in a romantic lace gown. We selected a figure flattering style from Amsale that would show off her fabulous silhouette. What you can’t see is that this gown has an incredible key hole back, which would be perfect on Blake! We have paired the gown with rose gold accessories, pumping up the romance factor!

Last week it was announced that Jennifer Aniston and new beaux Justin Theroux will be tying the knot! We love Jen and couldn’t be happier to hear the news, naturally our first inclination was to begin dreaming about the brides ensemble. Below are our picks for the big day…
1. ‘Tatum’ shortie by Modern Trousseau, 2. Hollywood Glam Earrings by Haute Bride, 3. Hollywood Glam Cuff Bracelet by Haute Bride, 4. Badgley Mischka Humbie Heel
Being that it is her second wedding, and we know that Jen loves to have a good time, we felt it would be fitting for her to wear a sophisticated shortie that shows of her fabulous legs and that sends the message that she is ready for a party!

Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress
There is speculation that today is FINALLY the day that “Brangelina” will tie the knot! Of course the world is waiting to see what she will wear for the wedding, which is rumored to be taking place at the French Chalet that she shares with Brad Pitt. Our pick for the Oscar winner is this elegant and sophisticated gown by Rivini. The elegant lines, deep v-neck, touch of sparkle- and the element that have made legs famous- sky high slit, will flatter her figure and personal style perfectly.
‘Magdalena’ by Rivini
We recently had the honor of using this gown for a shoot that we styled in Barbados for bride LIFE magazine. All eyes are on internet to see what she will wear. Stay tuned to the blog, as we of course will provide commentary on her wedding day look.

Celebrity Wedding in Ivy & Aster
NCIS: Los Angeles star Eric Christian Olsen, 35, and actress Sarah Wright, 29 tied the knot on June 23rd near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We love that this celebrity bride chose to outfit her bridesmaids in some stellar ivory styles from Ivy & Aster!
The “all ivory” wedding made an emergence 2010 after the royal nuptials when Pippa Middleton donned a color similar to her sisters’ stunning lace gown.
Ivy and Aster is becoming very popular with celebrities for their weddings! We recently had the pleasure of dressing Twilight star, Ashley Greene in an ivory and aster bridesmaid dress for a wedding ceremony earlier this year.
Find your bridal party some fabulous frocks from this designer and embrace the “all ivory” look! Book a spot at our upcoming Ivy & Aster Trunk Show running July 12th – 14th. Ring us at 860.669.4596!
