“Hayley Paige, made a jump start in fashion by interning for Nina Garcia at Elle magazine while attending Cornell University. She went on to work in ready-to-wear for Jill Stuart after receiving honorary attention for her 10-piece bridal collection shown during her graduating year. Eventually, her dedication to all things creative led to designing and styling abroad where she developed an appreciation for European influences.
Paige established herself as an integral designer for the Melissa Sweet bridal and bridesmaid collections and was the primary designer behind the first Marchesa Eterna bridal collection at Priscilla of Boston. Her contributions can be found in highly sought-after bridal publications, as well as nation-wide bridal boutiques.
Ever so eclectic, her designs capture a romantic and charming aesthetic that balances inner ingénue and sophistication. Her interpretation of worldly influences and desire to dress hopeful romantics, have provided a foundation for a fanciful and fresh take on bridal wear. Never taking herself too seriously and fully embracing the adorning history of the bridal industry, Hayley Paige develops her craft from an inspirational place of appreciation and enjoyment.”

Here is what Callie has to say about her new collection:
“As the Designer for Modern Trousseau, I am very excited to unveil the new 2014 Bridal Collection. We have so many new ideas and a wonderful array of gorgeous fabrics to show our brides. And because we have such a variety of brides that come to us we want to feature a diverse collection that will inspire many beautiful weddings. Our fabrics this season rely heavily on texture. We have delicate Italian embroidered organzas, re-embroidered French Alencon lace, and classic Thai silk. Our influences include a wonderful 1920’s inspired gown called “Pandora”, that is lightly beaded and hugs the body, and a 1960’s look that is short, sexy, and totally fabulous, her name is “Molly”. I hope that whatever gown a bride is looking for, that she can find something that makes her feel amazing on her wedding day.”
Watch the inspiring video below for a peek at how Callie and her team design, cut and sew custom gowns in their Woodbridge, CT studio! After seeing this amazing process, there is no question as to why we love this locally designed collection so much!
We are so excited and proud to announce that we will be carrying an amazing new designer, Chaviano Couture! Everything about this collection is beautiful and pure- from its made to order designs, to its charitable donations and heart warming beginnings.
Currently, we have two amazing creations coming to the boutique. The beautiful ‘Ginny’, a V-neck fit to flare lace confection with beautiful details and ‘Kristy’, a very special gown co-designed with artist Kristy Rice of Momental Design, who hand paints each gown order with beautiful flowers in pale ivory and blush- there is truly nothing like it.
Chaviano couture is designed and run by Annette Thurman, a wonderful woman who’s passion for creating custom gowns was inspired by her parents hard work and determination. The couple immigrated from Cuba 30 years ago instilled great pride and love within their daughter, which is why her maiden name, Chaviano, became the name of the company. When Annette could not find a wedding gown she loved for her wedding in 2006 she designed her own gown. From there the dream for Chaviano Couture was born. Since 2009 she has designed gowns for brides from all around the world. Each gown is hand crafted and made to the unique measurements and personality of the bride. It is an unforgettable experience.
Chaviano Couture isn’t just about creating beautiful gowns, its about giving back. 20% of gown proceeds are donated to young women in need across the globe. For sales of the 2013 Collection, the donation is going to the girls below, each of whom lives in an orphanage in Haiti.
How incredible is that?!
Chavino Couture also designed custom ceramic tags by Paloma’s Nest (home of the ring bearer bowl), which adorn each of her samples. We can’t stand how amazing this is.
There is one last thing we just have to mention. Annette takes real pride in her business, she sent us the sweetest handwritten card in the most beautiful calligraphy we have ever seen! We just can’t get over her generosity… and her calligraphy. She believes your gown shouldn’t just be something you wear, it should be an experience. Annette, we couldn’t agree more!
We look forward to many creative collaborations with this amazing design house based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Be sure to visit Chaviano Couture’s website for even more inspiration. Stay tuned for upcoming trunk show announcements!
Its almost here! We are rapidly approaching our first-ever Romona Keveza Legends Trunk Show, which beings Thursday August 8th and runs through Saturday the 10th. We couldn’t be more excited to share our newest line with our brides- especially a line that is inspired by our favorite style icons.
Designer, Romona Keveza, interprets the luxury, glamour and elegance of classic beauties in a fresh and modern way, by taking iconic gowns and reinventing them into traditional, yet timeless creations.
Below we have paired a few iconic bridal looks with the gowns we imagined they inspired from Romona’s Spring 2014 Collection- all of which will be available for you to try on during this week’s trunk show!
We love how updated this Audrey Hepburn inspired bateu neckline looks! What a refreshing take on such a flattering style. Add gloves to achieve a more vintage look.
Who wouldn’t love this lace, fit to flare style for its off the shoulder neckline and shapely skirt- it certainly reminds us of the always sultry Sophia Loren. Pair this style with a little bling and you’ll be sure to make a statement.
When you think of a gown inspired by Grace Kelly, it doesn’t always have to mean sleeves! We love a modern interpretation like this blush lace gown. Its unique lace and classically tailored shape make it fit for a princess. Pair this modern look with a classic lace veil for that truly romantic feeling.
lthough different in fabrication, these are both examples of a classic ball skirt- we feel Romona’s interpretation completely embodies the effortless spirit of Jackie Kennedy. With that iconically cinched waist and updated sheer neckline, you’re sure to make heads turn.
Ring us at 860.669.4596 to find the gown from Romona Keveza that makes you feel like a legend in your own right! Romona’s head of sales, Michelle Riley will be on hand during our Saturday appointments to discuss gown customization and the nuances to this beautiful line. And don’t forget, if you purchase your gown during this trunk show you receive a 10% discount off of your purchase, all the more reason to book as appointments are filling up quickly.
