Featured: The Connecticut Bride August 2011
This Spring I was asked to style the fashion editorial spread for The Connecticut Bride’s Fall/Winter 2011 issue. The shoot took place just a few weeks prior to the Royal Wedding and I derived my inspiration from the elegant, lady-like trends that I knew would emerge as a result. I wanted gloves to be a key detail in the shoot, so I went to the industry’s best resource, Carolina Amato. We also featured hats and fascinators designed by LA based designer, Bijou Van Ness. The magazine is on news-stands now, but the images taken by Carla Ten Eyck are so stunning that I wanted to share them on the blog as well!
I proposed something a little out of the ordinary for this shoot, and I was thrilled that Connecticut Bride went for it! All of the gowns featured in the spread are from one designer- Connecticut based designer, Modern Trousseau. At April bridal market in New York, I selected my favorite looks from their collection and we were fortunate enough to be able to use them in the shoot!
The cover featured gloves by Carolina Amato , jewelry by Haute Bride and Tejani and a beautiful headpiece by Satya Twena.
As the inspriation for the shoot had a vintage vibe to it, Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events- the genius behind the shoot design- and I had the brainstorm to shoot at historic locations throughout our state capital, Hartford.
Classic Elegance
We shot in two different locations on the first day- The Old State House and The Society Room. Both are beautiful locations for a wedding and reception. The vintage car provided by Carriage Limo was the ultimate accessory for this shoot!
