A Custom Wedding Dress at The White Dress by the Shore!
At The White Dress by the shore we love helping bride’s find the perfect wedding dress. There are times when a bride has a vision of a gown that she just cannot find. Or, perhaps she loves the top of one gown and the bottom of the other. In those cases, we are able to create a custom wedding dress for The White Dress by the shore brides!
We met Patty last year shortly after her engagement. Patty’s wedding was taking place in her home country of Brazil. She had a vision of an elegant, glamorous gown that would make a statement for her special day. It was important to her that the gown have straps, a full skirt and she favored beaded lace. She had a photo as inspiration that she brought to her appointment. We tried on several gowns in the boutique, but she could not find the perfect gown that had ALL of the elements that she was dreaming of. So, we worked with designer Augusta Jones to make Patty’s gown vision come to life!
The first step in the process was to identify the overall shape of the gown and the lace that she loved. We then sketched out the gown, took a series of measurements and sent them off to Augusta Jones. The designer then constructed Patty’s gown out of muslin, which is a cotton fabric. When the muslin arrived, Patty came in for a fitting so that we could fit it to her and make adjustments to create the perfect the silhouette.
Our head seamstress Penny, adjusted the muslin according to Patty’s specifications. In her case, we changed the shape of the armhole slightly. lengthened the straps and lowered the back neckline.
Several months later, Patty’s gown arrived. It was in the fabric that she selected and had all of the design specifications that we had made. It was PERFECT! In her final fitting we adjusted the hem and created a bustle to the shoes that she was planning on wearing…and off to Brazil she went!
The final product was PERFECTION! Congrats Patty! We were so honored to work with you on such a special gown!

We love all weddings – but when it is a friend’s wedding, plus a collaboration of all of your favorite vendors (who are also friends!) we can’t help but fall even more in love! And what better way to celebrate your first anniversary, then having your wedding featured on Martha Stewart Weddings!
The groom, Steve DePino, is an incredibly talented photographer. Steve has shot at virtually every wedding venue in Connecticut, so when it came to his own wedding, he and his fiancé Lauren Ann, wanted a venue that was totally unique. Steve was raised and still lives in charming Guilford, Connecticut, so it was important to him that all of the wedding festivities take place there. The couple planned their ceremony at Bishop’s Orchard, which was established in Guilford in 1871 and is a town landmark. When Steve and Lauren Ann were scouting the location, they noticed that there was one clear spot in the apple orchard where a tree had been removed. They decided to use that spot as their ceremony location. They wanted to get married in April, however at that time, apple trees are not yet in bloom. Floral designer extraordinaire, Yumiko Fletcher of Hana Floral Design transformed the tree that sat right behind the ceremony site into a living tree! She and her team hand-wired thousands of cherry blossoms to the tree and created the most spectacular backdrop for the ceremony!
The reception took place at The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center. The Marketplace is situated in the center of town along the historic Guilford Green. This location is also a town landmark that was recently renovated to be a charming, retro market. Steve, Lauren Ann, and their son Luke are regulars, so having the reception there was a no brainer! The atmosphere is hip, laid back, and fun, just like the couple! They even coined their own whimsical hashtag for the wedding: #grocerystorewedding.
The wedding images below by Justin & Mary Marantz are nothing short of epic. The couple is stunningly gorgeous, and you can see their love radiating through the images! We are so happy for you Steve and L.A (and Luke)! We were honored to have a small part in your big day!

We LOVE weddings! But, when it is one of our own designers getting married and it involves 4 incredible one-of-a kind couture wedding gowns, well, we can hardly contain ourselves! On July 11th, one of our favorite designers, Hayley Paige, tied the knot in Lake Tahoe. Below are several of her amazing wedding photos captured by the incredibly talented, Chard Photographer, recently featured on The Knot:
The first of many fabulous wedding looks was Hayley’s custom rehearsal dinner dress:
Hayley and her fiance Danny had a church ceremony where she wore a romantic long sleeve gown with a tiara by Haute Bride
And if you couldn’t take any more fabulousness…Hayley changed into an exquisite gown with a crop top and floral appliqué skirt for a second garden ceremony
Hayley has a love of unicorns…so, why not have one at your wedding?! Can you even?!!!
Hayley designed all of her maids dresses as well. They all wore pared down versions of gowns from her collections! We just adore that they were in all white!

The final reception gown was everything it should have been…a little bit sexy and a little bit rock and roll…just like the designer herself!

The best news is that all of Hayley’s gowns will be added to her future collections! So, you too can wear one of these beauties in the future!
Want to talk all things wedding with Hayley? Meet her at our upcoming events! This Friday, August 7th from 6-9, she will join us for a meet & greet garden party! If you are bride wearing one of her gowns, don’t miss your chance to meet Hayley herself and accessorize your gown! We will be offering complimentary mini hair trials from Catie & Amy and will have a curated collection of Haute Bride accessories brought in especially for this event. All accessories will be discounted by 10% during this exclusive event! Sip champagne, nibble on treats from Gourmet Galley, and shop and indulge in wedding fashion – what could be better?! If you are dying to become a Hayley Paige bride (and we can’t blame you), we will be hosting a Hayley Paige Trunk Show on Saturday, August 8th. Hayley will be in the store representing her latest collection. Don’t miss your chance to have her help you select your gown and to save 10% on your purchase. Click here to RSVP to both events!
It has been almost 6 weeks since we lost our friend and colleague, Eric Langlois of Raw Photo Design. As this wedding was one of our favorites, we were holding onto it to show at just the right time. Just the right time is now. Eric’s talent as a photographer was incomparable. But, beyond that, he was also hilarious and full of life. We think this wedding embodies all of Eric’s qualities. We love his use of light in these images, but he also captured the fun, whimsy and emotion of the day- perfectly. Thank you for your talent and your fun, Eric. You will be missed……
Kristin & Alex were wed last year at the gorgeous Lord Thompson Manor in Thompson, CT. The joy and whimsy of these images is a testament to Raw Photo as well as the love between this incredible couple. The color palate of deep red, black and white is a breath of fresh air and shows off that this bride truly had vision. This was further solidified with the parties attire shopping experience- Kristin chose a show stoping custom lace creation with gorgeous tulle back detail by Modern Trousseau. She then put her palate to work choosing gorgeous Ivy & Aster maids dresses in a deep red and flower girl frocks by the same designer in a polka dot pattern. The mannor was the perfect backdrop to highlight this couples unique details- we can’t get enough of those geranimo ballons, polka dot table cloth and incredible floral arrangements.
Kristin & Alex we can feel the love (and Eric’s passion for capturing it) radiating through these images- Congratulations!
To support Eric’s family, donations can be made to the Langlois Family Fund.

Months ago, in the dead of winter, we were awestruck with the darling details from this Madison, CT wedding planned by Jubliee Events and photographed by Carla Ten Eyck, two of our fellow inWhite members. This soiree embodies the classic New England bride. With this joyful palate and gorgeous tented reception, we can’t help but fall in love with this couples sweet romance, which was also featured on Style Me Pretty. It puts us in the perfect summer holiday mood, ready to enjoy tomorrows festivities (even if our holiday picnic doesn’t have those gorgeous blooms from BLUSH floral design, we can dream, right?).
Enjoy your holiday! Congratulations to this gorgeous couple!

It is our pleasure to introduce you to our new blog series called ‘Featured Wedding’, which holds a spot light on our favorite images and the color palate from a real wedding we just can’t get enough of. Scroll below to find out more about these gloriously sunny nuptials…
Recently featured on Style Me Pretty, the wedding of Marci and Paul is a sight to behold. We love their local vineyard setting (a ten minute jaunt from the store) and neutral palate with that bold pop of yellow.
We of course are a fan of their Coren Moore maids dresses purcahsed at the boutique with Marci’s signature hint of sunshine- she even wore a fabulously bright yellow Jenny Yoo frock to her rehearsal dinner. Marci’s gown is ‘Kendra’ by Modern Trousseau, the delicate placement of lace fits her every curve and we just love the look of that long romantic veil she’s paired it with.
We love this quote from Marci in regards to the feel of her wedding- she truly nailed it, “We wanted it to feel romantic yet laid back and comfortable. Much of what we decided on reflected this. From the outdoor rustic chic farm tables, to the dreamy floral arrangements of peonies, hydrangea & dahlia, to my Chantilly lace dress and fingertip lace edged veil.”
