We had a vision for an Old Hollywood Glam inspired shoot and found the perfect location at the historic Palace Theatre in Waterbury, Connecticut. The fashion inspiration came from the dames of the 1940’s, including Marlene Dietrich and Ava Gardner. We channeled their sex appeal and glamour in not only the fashion, but the décor as well. The lush red velvet of the theatre seats played beautifully off of the black and gold accents that Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events used in the tablescapes and furniture. We had great fun styling a romantic vignette for two on one of the theatre’s balconies, and an over-the-top tablescape designed by Jubilee Events, featuring a mirrored table, ghost chairs and a stately white, tufted, leather settee on the sidewalk under the marquee! One of my favorite shots of the day was inspired by a scene from Sex and The City: The Movie, where Carrie Bradshaw, donned in an Oscar de la Renta gown, was perched on a ladder under a chandelier, while modeling for Vogue. Carla Ten Eyck nailed my vision and I was so enamored, that I used it in an ad campaign that was seen in: Serendipity Magazine, The Connecticut Bride and Brides Connecticut.
