In March of 2009, I had the amazing opportunity to fly off to France with some friends and colleagues ~ photographers Robert and Kathleen Trenske, Jubilee Events’ Candice Dowling Coppola, and fellow fashionista Sarah Gleason, aka Marshie. We put together and styled a photo shoot in Paris! Clearly, it was a dream location. I cannot think of a better group of people with whom to explore the City of Lights ~ the creative energy was flowing like the Seine and it was the experience of a lifetime!
Candice and I worked on a design board for our shoot and were really inspired by a photograph that Robert and Kathleen took on their first trip to Paris. The goal of our vision was to create a monochromatic, black-and-white shoot, where the images felt like classic black-and-whites ~ even in color. I had a vision for fashion that was heavily influenced by runway, Vogue magazine, and, of course, Carrie Bradshaw’s trip to Paris in Sex in the City!
We filled our short, four-day visit with one day of scouting locations and two days of shooting. We met some talented new friends in Paris that helped to bring our shoot to life! Here is just a taste of our first day of shooting at the Eiffel Tower and in the surrounding neighborhoods. This shoot was recently featured on Style Me Pretty. It was also part of Robert and Kathleen’s brilliant photography seminar for international wedding photographers ~ Taking Off.
