Our good friends at style me pretty approached us and a dream team of Connecticut vendors to collaborate on an inspiration-to-reality shoot. The inspiration came from a fabulous board created by one of their loyal followers. Upon seeing the board, we opted for a more contemporary feel. We selected Saltwater Farm Vineyard as the location. It is an old airport hangar that had been recently refurbished into a working vineyard and winery. With concrete floors, rustic wood planked walls, and stainless holding tanks, the urban chic feel really came through. A Thyme to Cook created a sleek and sustainable decor with a menu as equally sophisticated. A goat cheese pear compote served fireside complemented the custom artwork by Steve Depino, and the pear ginger whiskey pops proved the perfect barside treat. Stonington Design+Paperie, inspired by the ampersand from the mood board, created a custom graphic identity throughout all of the letterpress papers and the custom ‘guest book’—a canvas decoupaged by Steve Depino with pages from a novel and signed using acrylic paint. We kept the feel of the fashion very minimal and modern as well. The varying shades of grey bridesmaid dresses worked perfectly with the color palate of the shoot and the bold architectural feel of the Amy Kuschel gown.
