Combining the spirit of the holiday season with one of life’s most special traditions melted our hearts in a way that not many other things have before. When we got a look at Kelly and Ryan’s winter wedding in Newport, RI our jaws simply dropped- the splendid decor, the chilly scene and the divine ensembles were nearly all too romantic for us to handle! We have kept these images under-wraps for nearly a year and are now thrilled to share Kelly and Ryan’s seasonal nuptials with our readers! Scroll through the images and read on for more details!
What a beautiful season-specific bouquet from Toni Chandler.
Coren Moore maids dresses hung with care…
We love how a copy of ‘Simple, Stunning Bride’ by our friend, Karen Bussen was in the bridal suite! Did you know the cover image was captured at our boutique and owner, Beth Chapman contributed to a chapter in the book?
Both brides and maids donned “getting-ready” robes from Beneath the Gown. Kelly’s custom robe was hand made by owner, Josie.
Although all elements of this wedding are simply spectacular, we of course cannot get enough of the fashion! Kelly and Ryan made the right choices from start to finish, finding the perfect balance to celebrate their love and vision without looking overly ‘seasonal’. We love the groomsmen’s dashingly traditional tuxes and how they compliment the maids, who donned grey Coren Moore ‘Lila’ dresses adorned with a black sash, red gloves and luxurious chocolate furs.
We have only one word to describe Kelly’s look for the big day- unbelievable. She purchased a beautiful Priscilla of Boston gown aptly named ‘Hepburn’, after the queen of class herself, and this gown is truly the epitome of elegance. The bejeweled illusion neckline played off of the sparkle in the bride’s eye and the gown’s traditional satin ball skirt compliment her shape (not to mention this gown was nearly a perfect fit before alterations). We love how Kelly accessorized with a simple veil, pearl clutch (both purchased at the boutique) and her own tennis bracelet and earrings- nothing more. Her clean hair style and shimmering, yet soft makeup complimented the look perfectly. Because of the time of year, Kelly also participated in our fur rental service- this was the perfect finishing touch to complete her ensemble. She must have been a true vision to her husband-to-be during their first look (take a peek at the video by Buzz Media Company below to see what we’re talking about).

Whitney and Matthew’s August 10th Wedding at Pine Orchard Yatch & Country Club embodies pure elegance. From the grand bouquets and table design to the black tie dress code and of course the brides gown, this wedding reminds us that nothing speaks to love like thoughtful, sophisticated details. The images below, captured by Maler Photography, are a true testiment to this and we do hope you enjoy looking through them as much as we did!
Whitney has exquisite bridal taste. She choose a gorgeous Rivini gown at one of our first trunk shows with the designer. Its flattering fit-to-flare shape was made unique with intricate lace and a beautiful asymmetrical neckline. She complimented the look with a custom Modern Trousseau veil and Maria Elena accessories. Her maids were also dressed to the nines in beautiful blush lace Encore Collection dresses. We love the girls black accessories- it helps tie them in with the groomsmen and makes the look even more chic. Whitney also booked our ‘Day-Of Dressing Service’, which takes any doubt or worry out of getting ready on the big day; from buttons to bustles, we have it all covered! It was such an honor to be able to dress Whitney ON the special day!
Every detail in this wedding was utterly elegant. We love the grand feel Whitney and Matthew’s seaside wedding must have given the guests- our jaws would drop walking into the ballroom and setting our eyes on the nothing-short-of-spectacular cake by Ana Parzych! The stunning decor created by Luxury Events Group, set off by the grand floral arrangements by Salvatore Esposito, must have also been swoon-worthy.
A big thank you to the Maler’s for sharing these images- the tender moments you captured were truly special.
Here is a recount from Whiteney of her big day and here experience at The White Dress by the shore:
“I’ve been dreaming about my Wedding Day since I was a little girl (as countless other girls have), and the reality of our Wedding surpassed anything I have ever imagined. Everyone who played a role in our Wedding, whether they were behind the scenes or our guests, made our big day overwhelmingly perfect. I had the pleasure of working with The White Dress By The Shore since the very beginning of the Wedding Planning Process up until my Wedding Day. As a testament to the boutique, I found “The Dress” (with the help of Owner, Beth Chapman) the very FIRST time I went Wedding Dress Shopping during the WDBTS’s Lace Trunk Show in October 2012. Beth made my one and only Wedding Dress Shopping experience so amazingly special, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. After trying on 8 gowns, Beth helped me narrow my options down to three of my favorites, where I was then able to decide on “the one”. Beth’s patience, professionalism, and expertise during my gown shopping experience went above and beyond. By the time I left the store that day, I had my entire “Wedding Day Ensemble” (gown, belt, and headpiece)–and could not have been more thrilled!! Further, as I mentioned, I had the pleasure of working with The White Dress By The Shore up until my Big Day. Penny, the in-house seamstress is absolutely wonderful to work with–a HUGE thank you to her for making my dress “fit like a glove”, and for ALL of her patience!!! Shana assisted me through the Bridesmaid Dress Shopping Experience and all of my Gown Alterations Appointments. Even MORE special, Shana was there on my Wedding Day to help me get into my gown, and make sure everything went smoothly. Shana was incredibly awesome throughout the entire process, there’s no way I could ever begin to thank her! What’s more, is that throughout my entire experience with The White Dress By The Shore, everyone made me feel extremely special and even more importantly, like a friend. In short, I can’t possibly thank all of the ladies at The White Dress By The Shore for ALL of their help and EVERYTHING they did to make my and Matt’s Wedding Day the most amazing day of our lives (I know he appreciated it! )!!!”
Congratulations Whitney and Matthew- your grace inspires us and your wedding is one for the record books!

After looking, we know you won’t blame us for posting enough pictures of this wedding to fill up a few photo albums- the images (taken by the unspeakably talented, Justin & Mary) are just that incredible and we could not bare to pare them down!
Chris and Ashley’s Branford House affair is nothing short of a fairytale in its own right- a grand location, flower crowns and golden details, make this one wedding we will always remember.
Scroll below to follow this couple through their incredible day from getting ready, to first look, to ceremony and reception- nothing in this wedding falls short of amazing!
Ashley isn’t a bride to shy away from the ‘Do It Yourself’ mentality; hand made invitations were assembled by the bride and her Mom!
Vintage bracelets for the maids made an extra-special statement, which we think worked perfectly with their blush-hued Jenny Yoo gowns purchased at the boutique.
Ashley’s gown is by Anne Barge and a true favorite of our stylists. The layers of lace and tulle and an exquisite fullness make this dress perfect for an elegant seaside wedding.
We love how Ashley accessorized with a cathedral veil, vintage jewels and a flower crown by Blush Floral Design. Ashley colaborated with Blush to not only make her bouquets and centerpieces, but to also construct an element of her ensemble- such a soft and beautiful take on hair adornments.
A first look with a spectacular view!
Whimsical hanging flowers by Blush Floral Design adorn the ceremony site.
What a great shot of Chris watching his bride walk down the aisle!
Such a sweet image! Justin & Mary have an incredible eye for capturing little moments with huge feeling.
Jenny Yoo’s romantic blush hue looks so wonderful on this gorgeous bridal party!
Gold, pink and ivory tie together in a spectaular fashion that continues the sensation that we may have just stepped into a fairytale.
See what we mean about Justin & Mary capturing those special moments?
Have you ever seen a more stunning reception dress? Lace and feathers! We love it, Ashley!
Congratulations to Ashley & Chris- your wedding left us speechless and every detail was a dream. From the fashion, to the decor, to the setting. We can’t get enough of this story-book worthy wedding!

Allison and Max were wed last year at the Wee Burn Beach Club in Darien, CT. We are absolutely enamored with this classic, New England wedding. Coming off of the heels of the 4th of July, we thought this was the perfect time to feature it as a Pretty Post. From the uniquely preppy maids attire, to the decor and invitations, this event was nautical, elegant and simply picturesque- thanks in part to the perfect planning made possible by fellow inWhite member, Jubilee Event. The day (and night’s) events were captured by another inWhite member, Carla Ten Eyck, and we could barely contain our excitement when she revealed the images to us.
Months before her wedding the bride and her best girls took part in a luxurious White Carpet appointment at the boutique, where she custom designed her very own Modern Trousseau gown, that we’re crazy about. And that veil with matching lace?…We were in love with this wedding before it even happened! Click here to see the images from the special day when she selected her gown.
Congratulations to this incredible couple- here’s to a lifetime of happiness!

Pretty Posts’ aim to give you a monthly dose of inspiration from one of our beautiful real weddings and this month we are doing a little something extra-special, we are giving a glimpse of owner, Beth Chapman’s beach-side vow renewal that took place in April in beautiful Watercolor, Florida.
We all know that Beth stops at nothing to make our brides’ experience the best it can be, so we were thrilled when she announced she’d be taking the time to renew her vows with Mark, her husband of 16 years, in a private ceremony with their two children. Scroll below to view the images expertly captured by Amanda Suanne Photography ,which present the scenic setting, darling details and heartwarming smiles shared by the Chapman family perfectly- not to mention Beth’s incredible custom blush and lace shortie by Modern Trousseau.
We admire this family for their unity, strength and care for one another and after taking a peek at these images, we’re sure you will love them too!
Here’s Beth’s recount of her vow renewal experience:
“When Mark and I were on our honeymoon in Hawaii in September of 1997, we decided that we wanted to renew our vows in 15 years in front of our (future) children. We had always wanted our vow renewal to take place in Hawaii. But, with our crazy schedules it seemed impossible to make it happen. As we were planning our spring vacation to our family home in the Watercolor Resort in Seaside, Florida, I suggested to Mark that we do it there. It has one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to and it is one of our favorite places on earth! So, the whole thing was planned in less than a month’s time!
It was difficult to tell friends and family that we were planning a vow renewal and none of them were invited! As hard as it was, it was very important to me that this ceremony be about my husband, myself and my children. At our first wedding, we had 180 guests in attendance. It was an absolutely perfect day, and I wouldn’t change a thing. But, this time around, I wanted it to be extremely intimate and I wanted to renew our love for one another in front of our children.
The ceremony took place on the beach in front of the Watercolor Resort. Mark and I recited the vows that we originally wrote and read at our first wedding. My 12 year old daughter, Lindsay read an excerpt of “1st Corinthians” and then recited a poem that she wrote about how Mark and I embody the words of the scripture. My 9 year old son Mark read a poem that my sister Katie had written for us at our first wedding.
Trying to pick a dress was not easy! The only thing I knew for sure was that my friends at Modern Trousseau would design and make the dress. I went back and forth about the style that I should wear. I worked with designer Callie Tein and selected a gorgeous fabric from one of the gowns in her 2014 collection. It is a very pale blush satin covered in alencon lace with appliques of guipure lace. As the ceremony was so intimate and taking place on the beach, I opted for a very simple sheath silhouette with a sweetheart neckline.
As per usual, I found it much easier to dress everyone else! I had a vision for my husband’s attire but searched high and low for tan and cream seersucker pants, to no avail. I eventually enlisted my friend Enzo of Valentino Tailors to make a custom pair of trousers in exactly the perfect fabric. My daughter is a budding bridal designer and she sketched her dress and my head seamstress Penny created it for her. Lucky for her that her Mom owns a bridal boutique! My son, thank goodness, agreed to wear a bow tie and I had a custom tie made out of Liberty of London fabric by a company that I found on Etsy.
I adored every vendor that I worked with in putting this impromptu event together. You absolutely can’t beat southern charm and the vendors in the Florida panhandle know how to put together a beautiful wedding!”
Congratulations to the entire Chapman family, we hold your love so dear.

This wedding, simply put is a ‘feel good’ affair! While sorting through these images we couldn’t find one that didn’t make us smile, which is why we felt so inclined to submit the wedding to Brides Magazine. Naturally, Christina & Aaron’s colorful wedding was accepted and now can be seen gracing the pages of the most recent issue and on brides.com.
There are so many things we love about this wedding.! The ‘first look’, the sweet and vibrant details, the reception venue, and of course the fashion! We absolutely cannot get enough of the amazing turquoise touches, especially the necklace Christina wore- what a refreshing addition to a bridal look.
Read below for Christina’s incredible recount of her gown search here at The White Dress by the shore. We loved her choice for both ceremony and reception- fashion forward yet fun and sweet:
“My wedding dress was the first and last dress I tried on, “Dora” by Melissa Sweet. It had caught my eye online, and I was dying to try it on. Unfortunately, the designer had stopped production of the dress and a single sample was the last of it’s kind at The White Dress by the Shore. By some stroke of luck or fate, someone had actually purchased the gown but changed their mind and opted not to wear it. Once I put it on, it was love- we purchased it on the spot. It’s SO true when they say that it’s just a feeling…when you know, you know. I loved how it was so simple, yet had these amazing and fun details that made it so romantic. I absolutely adored the silk organza adorned with faint polka dots, the matching sash that wrapped delicately around the waist and the slight length of a train in the back. It hugged my curves in all the right places, but was comfortable at the same time- comfort is key! I felt simply beautiful in it
I also decided to purchase a party dress for the reception as I knew I would want something later in the night that I could easily cut a rug in. “Sass” by Ivy & Aster was fun, flirty and fit like a glove. I am still waiting for an occasion to come up where I can recycle this dress, I absolutely love it!”
Christina’s maids also purchased their gowns with us, each wearing different styles of Ivy & Aster dresses in either a soft gray or deep turquoise. Three of her maids were pregnant at the time of the wedding and we think they all choose incredibly flattering styles. Being a pregnant bridesmaid is often stressful, but not an uncommon bridal party issue, and these girls met the challenge with style and grace. We love the way the colors play into the attire of the groomsmen and the overall look of the wedding.
The occasions’ reception took place at The Lace Factory in Deep River, CT- one of our all time favorite locations. This wedding successfully blends the historic value of the venue with bright, modern pops of color and various cultural influences. Hats off to Ambiance Luxe and Ryan Designs for setting the perfect stage for this couple to share their love with family and friends.
To end, we wanted to share one of Christina’s memories from the night that she won’t soon forget:
“I have a large extended family that reside overseas in Korea. Fortunately, a handful of them were able to make the trip for the wedding. My aunts wore traditional Korean garments and cut a rug to Michael Jackson- it was quite a site! There were too many individual moments to include…the dance floor and glasses were never empty, the overall day was so so amazingly fun and special to us. Guests are still talking about it to this day!”
Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
