She opted for a beautiful, clean, fitted Jenny Yoo gown topped with an embroidered tulle over skirt (which she later took off!) Congratulations Sam & Ryan! A little rain did not stop our beautiful bride Melissa and her groom Russell from enjoying their gorgeous wedding at Lord Thompson Manor. Our friends Robert and Kathleen captured this romantic wedding so beautifully!
“When they were both undergrads together at Duke University, Melissa had thought she knew Russell. He was a frat guy, she thought, not serious. Then, two months before she graduated, Russell offered to walk her home from the bar where they had both happened to be. On that walk home, they talked. They talked about a number of things but when Russell told Melissa about his favorite violin concerto, he spoke about it so eloquently that Melissa felt as though she was finally seeing Russell for the very first time. In that moment, she saw the man he truly was; everything he could be. Most importantly, she knew that this was a man she wanted to get to know better.
When they became a couple, Melissa came to know that Russell was, in fact, very serious – especially when in came to a future with her. On their wedding day, their Rabbi shared the gorgeous words that Russell wrote to Melissa, explaining how he felt about her and the life he pictured that they would share. Russell wrote that his deepest dreams are of growing old with Melissa. That when he looks into the mirror decades into the future and sees a wrinkled face, he will see those lines as a result of good work, of a life well lived, like the hands of a skilled carpenter. As the Rabbi read the words, Melissa and Russell held hands and stared into each other’s eyes. It’s safe to say that everyone else in the room, reached for their own tissues at that moment” –Robert & Kathleen Photographers

Here’s to wishing our stylist, Holly and her soon to be husband Adam all the well-wishes we can muster on their wedding day. We are thrilled to celebrate in style with the two of them in their hometown of Mystic, CT.
Congratulations you two!
It is our pleasure to introduce you to our new blog series called ‘Featured Wedding’, which holds a spot light on our favorite images and the color palate from a real wedding we just can’t get enough of. Scroll below to find out more about these gloriously sunny nuptials…
Recently featured on Style Me Pretty, the wedding of Marci and Paul is a sight to behold. We love their local vineyard setting (a ten minute jaunt from the store) and neutral palate with that bold pop of yellow.
We of course are a fan of their Coren Moore maids dresses purcahsed at the boutique with Marci’s signature hint of sunshine- she even wore a fabulously bright yellow Jenny Yoo frock to her rehearsal dinner. Marci’s gown is ‘Kendra’ by Modern Trousseau, the delicate placement of lace fits her every curve and we just love the look of that long romantic veil she’s paired it with.
We love this quote from Marci in regards to the feel of her wedding- she truly nailed it, “We wanted it to feel romantic yet laid back and comfortable. Much of what we decided on reflected this. From the outdoor rustic chic farm tables, to the dreamy floral arrangements of peonies, hydrangea & dahlia, to my Chantilly lace dress and fingertip lace edged veil.”
