Royal Wedding Viewing Party Recap
We adore all weddings, but when it is a Royal Wedding, we just HAVE to celebrate with a party! Below is a pictorial recap of our Royal Wedding Viewing Party. Saturday morning our staff gathered with brides and a few of our favorite wedding vendors to watch the Royal Nuptials unfold. Our talented friends at A Thyme to Cook prepared this delightful menu for the occasion:
Jubilee Events coordinated the soiree and in collaboration with some talented partners, created a royal wedding inspired tablescape in our front window!
We adored everything about the wedding- from Meghan’s modern and classic gown (which TWD owner, Beth Chapman predicted almost exactly!), to the stunning flowers, to the guests attire, to the way that sweet Harry looked at Meghan (major swoon-fest, right?!). Our favorite part of the wedding was how personal all of the details were.
We learned that Meghan’s 16.5 foot veil veil designed by Givency was created out of silk tulle with with a hand embroidered floral motif that represented the distinctive flora of each of the 53 countries of the British Commonwealth united in one spectacular floral composition. The veil also include two of Markle’s personal favorite flowers in the design. One is wintersweet, a modest shrub that grows on the Kensington Palace grounds in front of Nottingham Cottage. The other is the California Poppy, the state flower of California, where Markle was born. And if that was not enough, Crops of wheat also appeared at the front of the veil, symbolizing love and charity.
Kensington Palace said in the statement. “The workers spent hundreds of hours meticulously sewing and washing their hands every thirty minutes to keep the tulle and threads pristine.”
The tiara that she wore was Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, lent to her by The Queen. The diamond bandeau is English and was made in 1932, with the entre brooch dating from 1893. Completely perfect choice with a stunning Art Deco design. Talk about a family heirloom!
We also gushed when we found that Meghan’s wedding gift from Harry was an emerald cut aquamarine ring that was Princess Diana’s. She opted to wear that with her elegant Stella McCartney halter dress for the evening reception.
We loved the personal touches that were incorporated into the ceremony and especially appreciated the message of love and unity in the sermon from Bishop Michael Curry. We agree with you Bishop Curry, “Love is the way.”
