We love all weddings – but when it is a friend’s wedding, plus a collaboration of all of your favorite vendors (who are also friends!) we can’t help but fall even more in love! And what better way to celebrate your first anniversary, then having your wedding featured on Martha Stewart Weddings!
The groom, Steve DePino, is an incredibly talented photographer. Steve has shot at virtually every wedding venue in Connecticut, so when it came to his own wedding, he and his fiancé Lauren Ann, wanted a venue that was totally unique. Steve was raised and still lives in charming Guilford, Connecticut, so it was important to him that all of the wedding festivities take place there. The couple planned their ceremony at Bishop’s Orchard, which was established in Guilford in 1871 and is a town landmark. When Steve and Lauren Ann were scouting the location, they noticed that there was one clear spot in the apple orchard where a tree had been removed. They decided to use that spot as their ceremony location. They wanted to get married in April, however at that time, apple trees are not yet in bloom. Floral designer extraordinaire, Yumiko Fletcher of Hana Floral Design transformed the tree that sat right behind the ceremony site into a living tree! She and her team hand-wired thousands of cherry blossoms to the tree and created the most spectacular backdrop for the ceremony!
The reception took place at The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center. The Marketplace is situated in the center of town along the historic Guilford Green. This location is also a town landmark that was recently renovated to be a charming, retro market. Steve, Lauren Ann, and their son Luke are regulars, so having the reception there was a no brainer! The atmosphere is hip, laid back, and fun, just like the couple! They even coined their own whimsical hashtag for the wedding: #grocerystorewedding.
The wedding images below by Justin & Mary Marantz are nothing short of epic. The couple is stunningly gorgeous, and you can see their love radiating through the images! We are so happy for you Steve and L.A (and Luke)! We were honored to have a small part in your big day!

This luxury mountain wedding inspired photo shoot was a dream to collaborate on! It not only involved some of the best wedding vendors in the country (see the list below), but it was shot at the most stunning location! Lonesome Valley is a rustic, elegant venue nestled in the blue mountains of Cashiers, North Carolina. The views and ambiance are beyond epic. Owner and stylist, Beth Chapman, felt the only way to match this location was to find an epic gown! And we think that she fit the bill with this unique floral wedding gown by Gustavo Cadile. Coupled with a 3-dimensional floral veil by Sara Gabriel, it oozed Southern charm, which was just perfect for this romantic photo shoot!
As a stylist, I collaborate on many beautiful projects. Some times though, the project takes on an even bigger meaning, and that is exactly what happened with this shoot!
I was contacted by Amy Blau, founder and publisher of Bliss Celebrations Magazine, to conceptualize a shoot for their 2016 issue. For some time I had been dreaming about creating a shoot that featured chinoiserie and boxwood. Amy and I brainstormed locations and settled on Glen Manor in Newport. When we brought the concept to Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events, who would be designing the concept and décor, she had the brilliant idea to feature two grooms. She was inspired by turning the feminine aspect of chinoiserie on it’s head by bringing in some masculine elements such as leather and wood.
We had such a blast while working on this shoot. We not only had a dream team of collaborators (see the list below), but we so enjoyed seeing the love of our real couple, David and Anthony. After the recent events in Orlando, and around the world, we are more honored than ever to feature this photo shoot. We believe in ONE LOVE! Love that transcends race, gender, or sexual orientation. We believe that LOVE IS LOVE! We hope you will celebrate this love by enjoying the images from our shoot!
