It’s no secret that we love a good party, and when we were selected to carry Kate Spade’s Bridal Shoe Collection we couldn’t help but celebrate- BIG TIME. We planned a Saturday Soiree/Pop-Up Shop that was sparkly, pink and just as polished as Kate Spade herself. The entire bridal shoe collection made its way to The White Dress and we rounded up some fabulous vendors to help us transform our store into something truly special! The event featured furniture and decor from Ryan Designs, a lip beauty bar by Jennie Fresa, arrangements from Blush Floral Designs and sweets from TASTE by Spellbound.
See all the pretty (captured by the fabulous Michelle Wade) below:

Last week owner, Beth Chapman had the pleasure of participating in a Google + chat on incorporating color into your wedding. Beth was joined by celebrity event planner, Colin Cowie, floral designer, Karen Tran, and the discussion was moderated by founder of From I Will to I Do, editor, Anne Chertoff.
Below are Beth’s thoughts on incorporating color into your wedding:
I love color! Different colors evoke different emotions and the colors that you choose will set the tone for your entire wedding. One of the first steps in planning your wedding should be setting the color palate, as this will have an effect on all other aspects of your wedding- from the invitations, to the flowers, to the fashion.
In terms of incorporating color into your wedding attire, for the bride, I say less color is more. There is a current trend toward color wedding dresses. If you plan to wear a colored gown, I recommend that you opt for a very pale hue that is just a hint of color. Accessories are also a great way to incorporate color into your wedding day attire without overdoing it.
The place to make a statement with color is with your bridesmaids! I also love the idea of using your reception dress as a way to make a statement with color.

Now that a few weeks have passed after Spring 2015 Bridal Market and we have had a chance to absorb the trends, we got to thinking, “Wait a minute…”, “We already have many of next seasons hottest looks in store now!”
Take a peek at the Spring 2015 Trends post HERE and then look below at the wonderful gowns we have waiting for you to try on now so that you may be on the forefront of bridal fashion on your big day!
David Fielden’s ‘Isis’ and ‘Doris Day’ from Romona Keveza Legends are both swiss dot gowns but they have a completely different feel- go a little bit sexy with ‘Isis’ or achieve a classic look with ‘Doris Day’. You can create a sexy & demure look in the same gown by wearing an sheer long sleeve like that of ‘Gwendolyn’.
Anne Barge ‘Chatham’ is two gowns in one, a sweet shorty and a grand ball gown- this option one of the most popular trends on the Spring 2015 runway! Modern Trousseau offers even more customization with their front slit tulle skirt, put this creation over any gown for a custom, one-of-a-kind look!
Clean and classic was all over the Spring 2015 Runways. With lace dominating for the last few years, it was quite refreshing to the see the reemergence of these sophisticated silhouettes. We can’t get enough of the gowns above from Modern Trousseau, Augusta Jones and Amsale.
Alternatives to traditional lace patterns also graced the 2015 Spring runways. Jacquard prints, stripes, pattern, texture, unique laces- you name it! Above are a variety of one-of-a-kind fabrications already in the boutique from Anne Barge, Hayley Paige, Theia and Modern Trousseau.

One of our favorite wedding vendors, Photobooth Planet, has introduced a new concept that we just cannot get enough of! We first were introduced to Chloe the Photobus at the launch party for The White Dress in color; Inspirations for the Modern Bride at The Lace Factory. It was absolutely surreal to see a vintage VW bus indoors but was even more of a trip to find out that it had been fully converted into a modern photo booth! We love this idea for an outdoor wedding or event! How about you?!
Read on for more information and check out Photobooth Planet’s website to book!
Chloe is a lovingly-restored, sea-foam green, 1967 VW bus that has been converted into a rolling photo booth. Like our traditional, vintage-style photo booths, guests sit down inside, close the curtain, and push a button to have their pictures taken. Two identical strips of three, high-quality, glossy photos (black and white or color, and customizable to include text) print out in seconds (they take one as a wedding favor and you keep the other, if you like, for a “photo guest book” which is assembled on-site by an attendant).
Did he ‘put a ring on it’ over the holidays? Wondering what to do next?
Here is our suggested wedding preparation checklist involving many of the important, fashion related steps as you begin your journey down the aisle. The White Dress by the shore is your one-stop destination for all of the following, so be sure to give us a ring, as we would be delighted to help you with every last detail- 860.669.4596

We are loving Tartan inspired details for all things wedding this month. Maybe it’s the chill in the air or our New England background, but we just can’t get enough of this traditional plaid print as it has been reinvented and reused in so many creative ways.
Stay tuned as you may see it make its way into our creative endeavors very soon!
