We can't get enough of the era of flapper dresses, dashing suits, dramatic makeup and pin curls. Simply put, we love the style of the 1920's, which is why we jumped at the chance to participate in a project dreamed up by Dani Fine Photography at The Society Room in Hartford, CT. This shoot featured some true industry greats and we had so much fun working with them all - Datura: a modern garden on flowers, A Little Imagination Cakes on sweets and the ultra talented Larissa Lake on hair and makeup. Not to mention the gorgeous paper from Hartford Prints! ,which made our hearts go pitter-patter.
   Our inspiration for fashion was dramatic and moody, to compliment the classic city venue filled with dark woods and rich tones. The Society Room had a past life as a bank, so that grand feel of an era gone by still runs throughout.  We enjoyed using both old and new pieces when styling this shoot. We incorporated vintage inspired pieces from Maria Elena and from The Wedding Dresser. We were also lent a selection of period accessories from The Something Old Collection, which couldn't have been more perfect to compliment the looks. The piece de resistance was a vintage dress straight from the 1920's, borrowed from Tova's Vintage Shop . The gowns used in the shoot were from Amy Kuschel and Rivini and bridesmaid styles from Donna Morgan, including a forest green velvet style that we just adored. But the show could not have gone on without the suits and tuxes lent to us by our stylish friend, Enzo Valentino, of Valentino Tailors- the morning suit and ascot could not have been more period appropriate.
