As a continuation of our Ask the Experts Series, we asked Jennie a few questions about her business and current industry beauty trends.
What are your skincare recommendations for brides as they are getting their skin prepared and perfected for their big day?
Good makeup starts with good skin and a healthy diet! It's essential for brides to keep a proper skin care regime leading up to the BIG day. I suggest starting skin care treatments at least 6 months before your wedding date for best results. Facials are a great way to deep cleanse the skin and relax. An aesthetician can help you determine your skin type and select the right products. Don't over treat your skin by trying too many different products and treatments. I always advice my brides not to try any new products too close to the wedding. And, don't forget about your brows!  Shaped brows make such a difference in your overall look! At Jennie Fresa Beauty Library, we are proud to offer customized facials using 100% organic products, brow shaping and nutritional counseling to all of our brides.What are the current beauty trends that you are seeing for weddings?
Right now, a lot of brides are asking to look like a more perfected version of themselves. They want to look natural and merely enhanced instead of transformed. Neutral colors, such as brown, taupe or champagne for the eyes and a coral flush on the cheeks are always classic and preferred over trendy colors.We have been getting a lot of requests for vintage or an Old Hollywood type of look, which for us, is always so much fun to create! Currently, a lot of brides are opting to wear their hair down or half-up/half down. Bride's should consider their personal style and the style of your venue before selecting a look. As professionals, it's part of our job to learn about each bride, the details of the wedding and help her determine what is appropriate--that's what a trial is for!
Between summer weddings and destination weddings, so many of our brides get married in the heat. What is your recommendation for keeping their make up looking fresh on a steamy day?
Waterproof make-up is the best choice for weddings. Also, airbrushing is great in the heat as it has excellent staying power. Primer and setting spray are key for keeping your make-up in place. Keep a powder compact and/or some oil blotting sheets handy and always have your lip color with you to reapply after you eat! I don't feel every bride needs to have their makeup artist stay with them all night for touch ups but if your wedding ceremony is outside in July or August, you might want to consider this option!
You have introduced a great concept for bridal parties called Hello Gorgeous. Tell us about that?
