In celebration of ourÂ
Couture Bridal Event, which runs through Saturday the 24th, we are teaming up with the best Connecticut event planners in a new series! Each day we will pair a beautiful couture gown with the perfect venue and the planner will weigh in on why the match works so well. Be sure to check the blog daily for the latest pairing!
Today we are featuring a post by  planner
Stacie Shea Events. We choose to pair the sophisticated 'Sophia Loren' byÂ
Romona Keveza Legends with the wonderland that is Â
Lord Thompson Manor. Read on for Stacie's recommendations on design, a brief bio and more information on the event.

I was thrilled when Beth chose the
Romona Keveza Legends 'Sophia Loren' gown to pair with
Lord Thompson Manor for my guest post. I couldn't have paired a more beautiful fit to flair silhouette with a more romantic venue! The beautiful back garden is the perfect place for this dress to make its debut as you walk down the aisle. The 'Sophia Loren' screams sexy, elegant, classy and curvy all at the same time. This dress just oozes confidence and classic fashion style much like the style icon Sophia Loren did in her time.
Lord Thompson Manor is one of my favorite venues in the state of Connecticut to host a wedding and reception. The venue just far surpasses everything you could want from a wedding location. The getting ready cottage is decorated in beautiful whites and ivory tones that make your getting ready photos so simple and classic. The neutral tones through out the cottage make every wedding party photographed in the cottage look amazing with their dress colors.
Once you step inside the Manor the intricate details of the hearth, the fireplace, the many rooms of the manor overlooking the beautiful ivy covered outside garden it will be hard to find a more perfect Connecticut venue! I would suggest pairing very light pinks and ivory tones with beautiful goldâs and hints of green. The bridesmaids could be dressed in a soft bridesmaid dress in a neutral tone like the two below from
Amsale or
Jenny Yoo. The groom and groomsmen in a Two-button Notch Lapel Tux. For the perfect pump I would choose a blush colored pump with just enough sparkle on it. For the tables I would pair beautiful gold or fruitwood Chivari chairs with La Tavola Amelia linens on the tables. I would accent the tables with beautiful gold silverware and place beautiful ivory with gold-rimmed china for each place setting.
