This is a HUGE blog post, but it is bursting with beauty! We had the pleasure of styling the fashion spread for The Connecticut Bride's Spring/Summer issue, which is currently on newsstands. It was an honor to work with such a tremendous team of talents who helped to bring this incredible project to life!
The inspiration for the shoot was A Mid Summers Nights Dream and the location selected was the lush and lovely Lord Thompson Manor. In the words of Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events , who created the shoot's design and vision, "When you think of A Midsummer Nightâs Dreamâ aside from the storyline of loveâ it has always been a visually stunning piece of work. Remember the 1999 film with Michelle Pfeiffer and Kevin Kline? Romantic, whimsical, colorful, full of nature and flowers, weird, eccentric, fairytale-esque⦠we channeled all these things into our inspiration board and came up with a color palette of pinks and purples, with a lot of green and deep wood tones."
Our team came up with several different looks throughout the dayâ each having a slightly different fashion flare, but all in keeping with the romantic theme of A Mid Summers Night Dream. Our first look was inspired by one of Candice's favorite paintings, The Swing , by Jean-Honore Fragonard. The infamy of this painting is the relationships between the characters, where the man in front of the woman is having an affair with her, while the man lovingly pushing her is her husband.

The table scape designed by Jubilee Events and Tony of Datura: a modern garden was dripping with fresh moss on a vintage, hand-carved, wooden table. They used moss as chair cushionsâ accented with colorful orchids. The stunning focal point was an old brass chandelier dangling from a tree, which  Tony embellished with hanging green amaranthus and orchids. Posh Paperie created garden menu cards with crepe paper flowers and butterfly place cards.Â

A subtle butterfly theme was carried through the entire shoot. It was represented in the paper, in this romantic Augusta Jones gown accented with scattered butterflies, and in the unbelievable butterfly bouquet created by Tony.Â

The layout below is inspired by the scene in A Mid Summer's Night Dream when Puck, a fairy servant, acquires a magical flower, the juice of which can be spread over a sleeping personâs eyelids to make that person fall in love with the first thing he or she sees upon waking. He does this in an attempt to untangle the web of love between the two couples.
