We've been so honored and lucky to help some of our brides have their first look and first dance. However, not your typical first look or first dance. We hosted these special moments between the bride and their grandparents or parents right in our boutique. Most commonly, we will clear space on our first floor to accommodate the bride and her grandparents who are unable to attend her wedding. There was one instance when our bride's grandparents were not well enough to make the trip to the bride's upstate New York wedding. But, she knew it wouldn't feel right if her grandparents did not get to see her in her wedding gown and were not a part of her big day in some way. So she asked us if it would be possible to have a first dance and the first look during her final fitting. At Erika's final fitting we cleared out space for a dance floor and played "You are My Sunshine" by Johnny Cash, a song her grandfather used to sing to her as a little girl, over our sound system. We were honored to watch this sweet moment, and there was not a dry eye in the boutique! We've also had the privilege to provide intimate first dances and first looks with parents when a bride has decided to elope.
These moments make what we do, that much more special.
