Flowers & Fashion in Costa Rica!
Sep 07, 2011
When we were in Costa Rica this past fall, our team produced 3 shoots in 5 days. For 'fun' on our day off, we decided to organize and inpromptu shoot and just let the creative juices flow! We shot in two locations- on a beautiful lane surrounded by Costa Rican cows and barbed wire fences and in a gritty kayak shop. I donated a Jenny Yoo silk shantung bolero to the cause that Tony Palmeri, the creative floral genius behind Datura: a modern garden,  glued- yes, glued- Costa Rican flowers to that he hand-picked from the property that we were staying on. The end result was a stunning floral bolero that we paired with an organza Modern Trousseau  gown and stunning jewelry from Haute Bride. Beauty maven DD Nickel added her unique touches and transformed our model Carol into a whimsical, tropical, modern-day version of Chiquita Banana. All of the flowers that you see on Carol- headpiece, earrings, bolero- are all real and picked from the earth in Costa Rica!  It was all in than name of good fun...and fashion! The whole ordeal was captured on film by Jim Alteri of Vintage Cinema: [vimeo clip_id="21984517" " width="625"] Stay tuned for tomorrow's Costa Rican post that features several stunning properties on Los Suenos Resort.
