Get to know Sara Gabriel | TWD Accessories Designer
Our next accessories Trunk Show is fast approaching, and with the designer herself joining us for it, we wanted our brides to get to know Sara Gabriel. (PS- She will be here for the Feb. 23 & Feb. 24) Denver-based designer Sara Gabriel learned how to sew from her mother when she was a child. Her eponymous label began as a bespoke service in 2000, when she designed her first veil for a friend, and while the company has grown exponentially, the spirit remains: each piece is made entirely by hand, one at a time, from beginning to end. Using Swarovski crystals, French lace, freshwater pearls, and silk organza, her delicate designs are influenced by modern brides and vintage detailing. Read below about the designer from her point of view! Heritage : "The official story (the one I'll tell if I'm pressed for time) is that I launched Sara Gabriel, my namesake company, in July of 2000 in my tiny Denver apartment. But if you have the time I'll tell you the real story. My company started when I was 5 years old sitting by my mother who was teaching me to use her sewing machine, and when I was eleven traveling around the country in my dadâs VW camper bus, cross-stitching glittering mermaids to pass the time. It also started in high school when I began obsessing over everything that sparkled, or was even tangentially related to weddings. Like all true loves, mine feels like it has been with me my entire life, and I can honestly say that getting to wake up every day and make women feel beautiful is deeply fulfilling and an unbelievable dream come true."
