Jun 10, 2015
We hope that this post will help you to get to know The White Dress by the shore, as we think that to know us is to love us! Owner, Beth Chapman established the boutique in 2004 with a sincere to desire to create a memorable bridal shopping experience and environment for brides-to-be and their guests. Over the years we have set ourselves apart not only through our dedication to customer service, but for the unique services that the boutique has to offer.  Below are some of the boutique's nuances that help to make The White Dress by the shore truly special: The White Dress by the shore is situated in an antique home that was built in 1763.  When the boutique opened in 2004 it only had two fitting rooms and was contained to the first floor of the building.  In 2008, the boutique expanded to the second floor of the building and now the main boutique houses 5 fitting rooms.  Each room is private and allows the bride and her guests to have their own individual space.  We name each of our fitting rooms the name of European cities, so when visiting us, you can be whisked away to Paris, Versailles, or Nice! Beth Chapman, owner and fashion stylist, is a veteran of the retail industry. She spent 10 years working in the corporate office of Ann Taylor, where she served as a Vice President of Merchandising. Bethâs love of exquisite fabrics and feminine details, along with her sincere desire to create a memorable shopping experience for brides, compelled her to launch The White Dress by the shore, in 2004. Her expertise in fabrications and garment fit and her love of bridal couture, allow her to assist clients in selecting the perfect attire for their wedding. Recognized for her dedication to her business, family and community service, Beth was selected as one of the 5 finalists for the 2006 Connecticut Working Woman of the Year. Bethâs extraordinary fashion sense has led to her styling photo shoots throughout the world. She is co-author of The White Dress in Color, an inspirational coffee table book filled with photographs that celebrate the creative spirit through beautiful bridal stories and innovative planning tips. Beth has put together an incredible team with diverse backgrounds. Each associate is dedicated to making every interaction with our clients exceptional and for assisting them in finding the perfect wedding day wardrobe that reflect their personal style. Situated behind the main building is a renovated barn that we affectionately call Chic by the Shore. This sweet building houses our bridesmaid collections.  We are the only boutique in Connecticut that offers a completely separate space for bridesmaid shopping.  For brides looking for a truly unique experience, we offer the Bridesmaid Soiree.  During a soiree, a bride and her bridal party has exclusive access to Chic by the Shore.  For two hours they can try dresses to their heart's content while sipping mimosas and nibbling on cupcakes.  At the end of the appointment, each maid will receive a discount on their dress purchase and a swag bag. We believe in promoting our local and national economy.  To that end, the majority of the designers carried in the boutique manufacture their products in the United States.
