Black and White Wedding Editorial Shoot at The Copper Beach Inn
I saw the Carolina Herrera black and white gingham silk taffeta gown during Bridal Fashion Week and knew that I had to use it in a photoshootâ¦I just had to wait for the right one! When we began discussing the editorial shoot at the Copper Beach Inn, the premise was personalization and making your wedding your own. What better shoot to use a black and white gown for?! The floral inspiration was very bright and colorful, so I decided to keep the fashion very graphic by dressing the bridesmaids in black Lula Kate mix and match dresses. I wanted to play up the whimsy of pattern, so I dressed the flower girl in a striped dress and incorporated a pin dot into the pocket square of the groomâs attire. The bride was wearing an untraditional gown, but she is still a bride, so I paired the gown with a simple, elegant veil from Sara Gabriel. For the bride's second look, I selected an amazing jumpsuit from Viktor and Rolf with an oversized bow, that was in keeping with the preppy, yet whimsical feel of the shoot. I wanted to change up the groom's look as well, so I dressed him in aubergine dinner jacket that played beautifully off of the flowers by Hana flower. Of course, the best accessories of the day were the kittens and Bessy, the German Short Haired Pointer! This shoot is a perfect example of how your wedding does not have to be "matchy matchy". What is important is that it reflects your personal style and that you have cohesive elements that carry throughout...whatever they might be!xoxo, Beth
