Weilu Fresolone
At The White Dress by the Shore, we're always searching for designers whose craftsmanship, creativity, and values align with what our brides are looking for. That's why we're thrilled to carry the beautiful collection of Connecticut bridal designer Weilu Fresolone.
Recently, we sat down with Weilu to learn more about the inspiration behind her gowns, her design process, and what makes her collection so unique. As the first boutique in Connecticut to carry her designs, it was a conversation we were especially excited to share.
One of the things we love most about Weilu's collection is that every gown is made right here in Connecticut. In fact, Weilu shared that she and her mother personally create each dress, bringing an incredible level of care and craftsmanship to every piece.
"It's only me and my mom making those dresses," Weilu explained during our interview.
That hands-on approach allows her to focus on quality while offering brides a level of customization that is increasingly rare in today's bridal industry.
Weilu's inspiration comes largely from nature, something she has been connected to since growing up on a farm. Throughout our conversation, she described how the movement of water, the shape of tree branches, and the growth of flowers all influence her designs.
"I take a lot of inspiration from nature because I grew up on a farm," she shared. "I see the way flowers grow and how the water moves. All those things really speak to me."
Those influences are reflected throughout her collection in soft silhouettes, thoughtful details, and a timeless sense of romance. Weilu is equally passionate about fit. While beautiful fabrics and intricate details may be what brides notice first, she believes the foundation of every great gown is how it fits and feels.
"Bridal is all about the fit. The fit is everything."
Each design is carefully tested and refined on different body types to ensure brides feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful on their wedding day.
Another standout feature of the collection is the opportunity for customization. Because every gown is made in-house, Weilu can work with brides to personalize their look through neckline changes, custom straps, additional volume, jackets, veils, and other unique details.
Her philosophy is simple: if a customization helps a bride feel more like herself, she's happy to make it happen.
