Musings of a Stylist: Pretty In Pink

  "What could be more romantic than blush gowns, lush floral arrangements of garden roses and peonies set against a back drop of a historic estate along the  Hudson River? This shoot was an absolute dream to style. When we stepped back for a moment, we almost forget we were in the Hudson Valley and felt like we were on a plantation in the South!   In the words of event planner, Jessica Herberger, of Experience Events,   âThe shootâs inspiration came from the idea of an elegant garden party.  I love the look of the blush gowns against the backdrop of the lush green grounds of the venue. We wanted our table to have a rich look with warm tones of peach and pick to complement the blush gowns. I also incorporated the vintage chairs and chandelier for a sweet âmoment❠under one of the great oak trees. A few accents is really all it takes to give that special touch to a lounge-a vintage crate, an ampersand and one of my favorite arrangements of all foliage in a brass cup.❠  In styling the shoot, I selected gowns in either a pink hue or with a blush accent in soft silk organza, frothy tulle and delicate lace to create a very soft and romantic feel. The accessories were all gold and rose gold to provide a warmth against all of the blush tone fabrics. The piece de resistance of this shoot was a gown from Chaviano Couture made with a skirt hand-painted by artist, Kristy Rice, of Momental Designs.
