Pretty Post: Holly & Adams Handmade Dockside Wedding in Mystic, CT

Pretty Post's are always special and even more so when it is one of our own bridal stylists' wedding!  This post just takes it over the top for us, as this  lovely couple is expecting their first child in a few short months. We are finally sharing Holly & Adam's sweet wedding that took place last summer!  Take a peek below for all of the pin-worthy inspiration from this creative couple. Holly and Adam are both artists and have known each other for over a decade. Their wedding paired sweet sentimentality with unique creative touches set upon the backdrop of picturesque Mystic, CT where the two grew up. Having both worked at Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters as Display Coordinators and attended the same college of fine arts, their heartfelt and handmade wedding was a true portrait of their lives together, infused with whimsical touches and heirloom details. They used all local vendors and  paper as a common thread in kites, hearts, streamers and craft paper. Having an intimate, casual gathering was really important to them, so they kept it small and had Hollyâs grandfather, a Justice of the Peace perform the ceremony in his back yard on the bank of the Mystic River. When it came time to party the pair invited all of their friends and family to a reception at The Boat House at Seaport Marine- thats right, a party right on the water. The fete was completed with a to-die-for brick oven pizza truck, starry Sperry tent, handmade decor and a down right funky band who call themselves 'Folk, Yall'. The bride donned a custom Modern Trousseau gown and completed the look with Aquinnah earrings, a bejeweled Modern Trousseau sash and vintage inspired shoes. All in all, this wedding felt so much like Holly & Adam and we were so honored to be a part of their big day, just as we are to be a part of their next step in life as they welcome their baby boy into the world!
