As soon as the venue for this shoot was confirmed to be taking  place at Gedney Farm in late February,  Beth Chapman, The White Dress by the Shore owner, knew that we had to shoot the Hayley Paige "Lumi" gown. After seeing it walk the runway in New York, she fell in love with its light blue hue, billowed sleeves and delicate star motif beading, which were perfect for the snowy back drop and the candlelit reception! The subtle sparkle in the gown was just enough of a contrast with the rustic setting to create perfection. There certainly is no rule that you canât wear sparkle in a barn, as long as your details and decor mirror the same aesthetic. Beth paired the gown with an ombre blue veil by Sara Gabriel and continued with the theme of shades of blue with the groomâs attire.

We ALMOST did not get to this glorious gown!  It was still in production and the Hayley Paige team was kind enough to pull it for a few hours for us. It arrived the morning of the shoot!  We got all of the shots we needed, boxed it up and sent it back to New York the same day.  Of course, Beth had a back up gown just in case...but we are all so pleased that we received âLumiâ, as she really made the shoot!

The brideâs look exudes drama and modern glamour, while still maintaining a sense of softness and romance. Allure traveling beauty added the perfect Maria Elena hair accessory as the finishing touch to her hairstyle. Allure choose this piece for her hairstyle with the idea that less is more! Sabrina from Allure Traveling Beauty created a fresh faced look with a touch of a moisturizing water-based airbrush foundation, natural eyeshadows, and a little highlighter to give an instant glow! Shine may be fun for your lips, but for a more elegant bridal look she went with matte giving our bride a bolder look which required less overall makeup.

Blue Lane Events used the Hayley Paige gown as the inspiration behind the details.  Its metallic elegance is right on trend for 2017. This year is all about metallics, from decadent gold to elegant silver and bronze.  It's about the shine.  It's not the easiest look to pull off because it takes the right balance. Using the right touches in the right places is key to making a statement that is all your own. You want glamorous without being overdone.

Brides want to include the latest trends in their wedding, but also want to keep more classic elements as well.  Blue Lane Events spray painted artichokes a shiny silver and used silver chargers to bring in 2017âs metallic trend, while keeping the rest of the table pretty traditional.  The acrylic menu card also added a more modern touch to the table while keeping the overall classic feel.

The Pantone color for 2017 is greenery so we knew we wanted a lush runner full of different types of greens, and the floral designer, Deryck created the perfect one!  It was a gorgeous way to incorporate nature into the already rustic backdrop of the barn and to highlight the switching of the seasons from winter to spring.  This yearâs âgreenery❠hue allowed us the opportunity to use a stunning neutral against an unconventional, more modern metallic.  It proved to be the perfect juxtaposition.  This same inspiration was incorporated into the cake design by Erica OâBrien. Erica poured her love into this cake and created a three tiered work of art, hand painted and shaded at the bottom tier to reflect the brideâs veil, while incorporating delicately crafted sugar flowers and Eucalyptus leaves  on the top two tiers.

We always encourage our brides to make sure that their wedding details are cohesive.  Pinterest can be a great source of inspiration, but it can also be overwhelming during the planning process.  We often see brides patching together ideas from Pinterest, so their wedding comes out feeling a little disjointed.  A huge part of a wedding day is the brideâs dress, as it can really set the tone of the day.  The clusters of tapered candles reflected the romantic look of her dress, the artichoke place settings mirrored the sparkle of her dress, and the unique pale blue tint of the dress was just enough to make the whole setting feel very contemporary within a turn-of-the-century barn.

Many brides are attracted to rustic-themed inspirations.  It is our job to suggest new and exciting ways to incorporate that rustic feel, without relying on overdone imitations.  We like to look forward and reinvent favorite styles.  And, of course, we do believe that love is written in the stars!
