The White Dress by the shore celebrates 14 years of business
We are celebrating 14 years of business at The White Dress by the shore ....and to us, it has been 14 years of fabulous! As the store owner of The White Dress by the shore, I am often asked why I opened The White Dress. The idea was born out of the desire to provide brides with the bridal experience that I craved, but did not have while shopping for my own gown. When I got engaged in 1996 (yikes) I was working in NYC in the corporate office of Ann Taylor. As I was working and living in the city, that is where my dress shopping began. I was disillusioned with large bridal stores that did not understand my sense of style or have gowns that matched my aesthetic. I found the gowns to be dirty and the sales associates to have no interest in me or my wedding, whatsoever. Being that I worked in fashion, naturally I wanted to customize every gown I tried on. I was told that this was not possible and my frustration only grew. It was then that the seed was planted to create an intimate shopping experience for brides. I wanted to curate a collection of gowns that were of one hand and taste level and that felt as though one person could have designed them- even though they were from different designers. I wanted to align myself with designers that cared as much about the bride as I did and that would customize the bride's look to make it uniquely hers. My vision was to have my boutique in an old home and to serve tea to my brides out of my grandmother's antique tea cups and to offer champagne out of crystal glasses. I wanted to create a shopping experience that was as memorable and special as the wedding day itself. That vision came to life in 2004. I will never tire of that moment when a bride finds the perfect gown for her and when we see the wedding photos and the gorgeous bridal look that we helped to create. To me those things are a gift. I am truly honored to be able to work with brides every day. I am also honored to have worked with an incredible number of talented women over the years who have helped to grow our business into what it is today. Some have left to peruse other interests or to raise a family, but they will always be part of our TWD Family. These photos below are of my current talented team.
