Winter Wedding at The Branford House Mansion | Liane & Alex

While summer is just around the corner, in our industry we are already working six months ahead! A winter wedding is always beloved by us, so we wanted to highlight this special one from The Branford House Mansion in Groton, Connecticut.

THE BRANFORD HOUSE

The Branford House at UConn Avery Point was built in the 19th century, modeled after the famous Newport mansions, and offers an elegant location on the Connecticut shore that creates the ideal atmosphere for a memorable event. From the patio of a historic mansion, you can enjoy a panoramic ocean view, sailboats drifting past, and sparkling lawns. It’s an absolute dream to get married at a venue like this, and we were lucky enough to get to help one special bride find her dream wedding gown for her Branford House wedding.

LIANE AND ALEX’S WEDDING

Liane has actually been a longtime muse for us here at The White Dress By The Shore! Fun fact: she and her now-husband, Alex, grace the cover of Beth Chapman’s second book, “The White Dress Destinations.”

THE DRESS

Our owner and fearless leader, Beth Chapman, styled Liane for her wedding day and provided with day-of dressing services. This was a super special experience for both Beth and Liane!

Liane wore a gorgeous silk crepe Hayley Paige wedding gown. She also rented beautiful fur from us to complete her wedding day look and her bridal party’s ensembles! The complete look was incredibly sophisticated and luxurious, which was exactly what she Liane was going for.

One of our favorite parts about helping brides prepare for winter weddings is helping keep them warm and stylish! To achieve that, we offer a gorgeous selection of fur jackets, stoles, wraps, and muffs for sale and to rent. They are the absolute perfect way to stay warm on a chilly winter day - plus, they look stunning! If you’re interested in viewing our selection and renting a gorgeous fur stole for your wedding, click here for more information!
