If you are a bride shopping for a wedding dress in Connecticut, New England, or the New York City area, there is nothing more exciting than seeing what just came down the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week. In this first part or a two part series, we are highlighting three of the biggest Spring and Summer 2027 wedding dress trends from New York Bridal Fashion Week, including bold florals, subtle color, and romantic ruffles that are already making their way into bridal shops.
Spring Summer 2027 bridal fashion trends just debuted, and truly, this was one of the most exciting bridal fashion weeks we have seen in a long time. There is so much newness for brides right now, from romantic textures to fresh takes on classic silhouettes, and we are already seeing how these trends will influence what brides are asking for in-store.
At The White Dress by the Shore in Clinton, CT, we stay closely connected to Bridal Fashion Week so we can bring the most current and beautiful wedding dresses to our brides across New England and beyond. In this first part of our Spring and Summer 2027 trend recap, we are highlighting three standout bridal fashion trends you will be seeing everywhere: large scale florals, a touch of color, and ruffles.
The overall mood this season is incredibly feminine. Think full skirts, soft movement, romantic details, and wedding dresses that feel both timeless and fresh at the same time. If you love classic bridal style but still want something that feels current, you are going to love what is ahead.
Do not miss Part 2 coming after this, where we share even more bridal fashion trends that came down the aisle, errr we mean runway this season, including modern yet modest dresses, dresses with peplums, modern bridal cover ups and the return of the mantilla bridal veil.
Let's dive into Part 1 of our top three newest bridal fashion trends that brides shopping for a dream dress will start to see popping up in bridal shops so very soon (Be sure to check out Part 2 of this series on the top bridal trends from New York Bridal Fashion Week)...
Trend #1: Unique Floral Details
Floral wedding dresses are evolving in beautiful new ways for Spring Summer 2027, with designers embracing unique floral details that feel modern, dimensional, and fashion forward.
This season, we are seeing everything from dramatic 3D floral appliques to rich jacquard floral fabrics woven directly into the gown itself. Rather than soft, subtle floral accents, these bridal looks feature texture, movement, and intricate detail that instantly make a statement. Designers played with oversized blooms, sculptural floral embellishments, layered petals, and embossed floral patterns that brought gowns to life both on and off the runway.
3D floral wedding dresses continue to stand out as one of the most romantic trends in bridal fashion. These gowns create depth and softness through hand-applied flowers, textured petals, and dimensional appliques. There was also a variance in the arrangement of the floral details from all over floral lace to floral detailing at the bottom of skirts only.
At the same time, jacquard floral wedding dresses are bringing a more structured and elevated take on the floral trend. These fabrics feature floral patterns woven directly into the material, creating a luxurious texture with subtle shine and dimension. Jacquard floral gowns feel timeless and often lend themselves to fuller ball gown silhouettes.
For brides planning spring, summer, or garden-inspired weddings, these floral bridal trends feel especially fitting. They bring romance and personality into the gown while still feeling elevated, sophisticated, and distinctly bridal.

Trend #2: Ruffles in Wedding Dresses
Ruffles in wedding dresses are back, and they are softer, more romantic, and more wearable than ever.
This is not about overly dramatic or heavy ruffles. Instead, the bridal designers are using layers of airy fabric to create movement, texture, and a sense of lightness. We are seeing ruffles along skirts, cascading down trains, and incorporated into sleeves and bodices.
Many of the ruffle wedding dresses at New York Fashion Week felt incredibly ethereal, with fabrics moving effortlessly as the models walked, almost like they were gliding. Designers leaned into soft organza, layered tulle, and sculptural draping to give gowns dimension. We saw a variety of silhouettes come down the runway for gowns with ruffle details including full layered skirts and more slim sheath dresses alike.
Ruffles add dimension and softness to a bridal gown, making them a beautiful choice for brides who want a romantic, feminine look. Whether it is a full ruffled skirt or a subtle detail, this trend brings a sense of effortless movement that photographs beautifully.

Trend #3: Scoop Neck Wedding Dresses
Scoop neck wedding dresses are making a major comeback for Spring Summer 2027, bringing a softer and more romantic approach to bridal necklines.
After years of sharp plunges and straight across strapless styles, designers are embracing the elegant curve of a soft scoop neckline. This silhouette feels timeless and feminine while still offering an effortlessly elevated bridal look.
We especially loved how scoop necklines complemented many of the season's other major trends, including hip swoops, and floral fabrics. Together, these details created bridal looks that felt sophisticated, fashion forward, and incredibly wearable.
For brides who want a neckline that feels timeless, flattering, and effortlessly chic, the return of the scoop neck is such a beautiful trend to embrace.
