If you are a bride shopping for a wedding dress in Connecticut, New England, or the New York City area, you already know how exciting it is to see what just came down the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week. We're back with more trends from this year's bridal runways and we are breaking down the next wave of Spring and Summer 2027 wedding dress and bridal accessory trends, from modern modest styles to statement veils and versatile layering pieces that brides shopping for their dream wedding dress are already starting to ask for.

In Part 1, we shared three of the biggest wedding dress trends, including large scale florals, romantic ruffles, and scoop necklines that came down the runways for Spring and Summer 2027. If you have not read that yet, you will definitely want to go back and take a look at Part 1, because those are trends brides are already starting to fall in love with.

Now, here in part 2, we are continuing with even more bridal fashion trends from this season, and there is so much to talk about.

One of the biggest shifts in wedding and bridal fashion we saw this season was a return to a more modest, classic bridal aesthetic.

Sculptural wedding dress silhouettes with unique hip swoops is another big trend we're really enjoying. Seeing these editorial worthy designs come down the runways ignited our excitement for bridal fashion!

And yes, bridal veils are back in a big way, especially the traditional mantilla. As bridal stylists who love timeless, classic brides, seeing this aesthetic come back feels so right!

Here is part 2 of the new trends we spotted coming down the bridal fashion runways (Do not miss the first 3 trends in Part1)…

Trend #4: Modest But Modern Wedding Dresses

Modest wedding dresses are back, but in a way that feels completely modern and fashion forward.

This is not about covering up or sacrificing style. Instead, bridal designers are embracing higher necklines, longer sleeves, and more coverage while still keeping the overall look light, elegant, and current. Think sheer illusion details, delicate lace, and clean lines that highlight the silhouette without feeling heavy. Don't forget about elegant straps. We saw a number of ways to add straps or delicately detailed straps incorporated into new wedding dress designs this season.

Another exciting element we saw was ways to cover with bridal jackets, detachable sleeves, capes, and cover ups of all kinds. Sheer toppers and dramatic lace jackets are versatile and add dimension to any bridal gown. Long flowing bridal capes can add a second layer on top of an already beautiful gown, accentuating the details and loveliness of the bridal look while adding some coverage for shoulders and arms. It's a great way for brides to have a convertible look on their wedding day. They can cover up during the church ceremony or even later in the evening when things get a bit chilly.

For brides who love a timeless, classic bridal look or simply want a bit more coverage, this trend offers so many beautiful options that feel both refined and on trend.

Here are a few of our favorite modest but modern wedding dresses that perfectly balance coverage with a fresh, fashion forward feel...

Trend #5: The Return of the Mantilla Veil

The mantilla veil is officially back, and we could not be happier about it!

This traditional veil style, often trimmed with lace and worn close to the face, brings such a timeless and romantic feel to a wedding dress. It pairs beautifully with both simple and detailed bridal gowns, adding softness and elegance without overpowering the look. Designers are styling them in fresh and modern ways for Spring Summer 2027 bridal fashion.

We are seeing brides fall in love with veils again, and the mantilla is leading the way. It is classic, feminine, and truly never goes out of style. On the runways, we saw mantilla veils paired with everything from dramatic lace ball gowns to sleek minimalist wedding dresses, proving just how versatile this accessory can be. The soft framing around the face is what creates an incredibly romantic effect.

For brides who love romantic bridal fashion, traditional lace details, or a more elevated and regal wedding day look, the mantilla veil is such a beautiful finishing touch.

Here are some of our favorite mantilla veil moments that highlight just how timeless and romantic this look truly is...

Trend #6: Hip Swoops

And now for one of the most fashion forward trends we spotted on the runways for Spring Summer 2027, the rise of hip swoops and sculpted silhouettes.

Designers are embracing dramatic shaping through the hips with draped fabric, exaggerated side details and sculptural overskirts. These couture inspired looks create a beautifully defined silhouette that feels like it glides throughout the ceremony and reception for brides. We love that it's bringing a fresh, editorial feel to bridal fashion.

Some gowns featured soft draped hip details while others focused on more defined draping that felt bold and high fashion. We especially loved how versatile this trend felt across the different bridal styles. Hip swoops appeared on sleek minimalist gowns and dramatic ball gowns.

This trend also pairs beautifully with many of the other bridal trends emerging this season including scoop necklines and floral details.

For brides who want their wedding dress to feel modern, elevated, and runway inspired, hip swoops and sculptural silhouettes offer a striking option that's also flattering!

Here are some of our favorite hip swoop wedding dresses that perfectly showcase this bridal trend...
